New Found LOVE

Well my darling readers, as you know it has been AWHILE since I have posted something new to this blog. Though there are many reasonable excuses - mainly regarding school - as to why I have been away and left this blog barren these past few months, I have chosen to disregard them and simply pick up where I have left off.  To those of you who still religiously check up on my blog from time to time, Thank You!! Now that my school year is coming to a close, I will try to post more frequently the thrifted/vintage quirky outfits I have come to acquire. With this being said, I will get into detail about my “New Found LOVE” jeans that I stumbled upon while at home for March break.

Since the summer of 2010, I have always wanted a pair of ripped in the knee jeans!! Throughout my search I have come across many pairs, but have never seen any that fit the way I wanted them to or ones that I liked enough to pay for. Finally, as I went downtown to do my routine thrift shopping……..there they were. Squeezed in between two Ralph Lauren high-waited mom jeans, was the ripened apple of my eye. I could not believe it when I tried them on, that they fit so well. Although they are a tad baggy, that is nothing that a belt can’t fix. Not only is this pair of jeans a gem, but the price was also “bejewelled” – aka the right amount. So now that this wonderful piece is added to my wardrobe, I simply cannot wait to patrol around in them with my black bandeau and combat boots this spring! =D

If there is one thing I like about Windsor, it’s that the weather here always surprises you. One day it will be cold and the other BLAZING hot. One day to will be warm enough to wear a light sweater or even a t-shirt if you dare, but the minute you finish class a harsh wind will comes out of nowhere and chills your bones. This particular day last week was one of those days. I know from this picture it looks nice and warm, but in reality it was DEAD cold. By the end of this photo shoot my bones were broken and I could hardly walk. Why Tamara, is the question you’re probably asking yourself. I’ll tell you why, it’s because the sun shone so perfectly off those waterfall rocks and for days I’ve been wishing to take a picture there. I was not about to let that opportunity pass me by. Did I forget to mention that I’m CRAZY! That’s most likely the number one reason. Stepahanie was on the sidelines talking the pictures for me while her knees were chattering together. A lady looked out at us like we were insane, which we were, so it was well deserved. Once we were done taking pictures, I quickly raced into my jacket which was waiting for me on a cold and dusty bench. I can more or less say that it was almost, not really, just about, maybe not, if truth be told, worth being cold to capture these beautiful pictures.

Knee-high socks are one the trends that are in right now and I simply think they make any outfit look cute and cozy. I love them so much that I’ll be wearing them with everything this winter.

"Ice Breaker" Party Flyer

Hey Guys, I didn’t really wear anything that chic today. I just kind of took the clean fresh cut road instead. But there is something that I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you for a while. One of the things I’m really into now is collecting BIG rings. They are just so fabulous and simply go with everything you wear. My favorite style of jewelry, whether it be rings or necklaces, however are owls. They are just so cute and appear so wise when you wear them. My other rings are just some that I happen to stumble on whenever I go out shopping or on outings with friends.

One other really cool one besides my lovely owls, is a sliver and black tiger ring – as you can see above. It’s actually in the shape of a tigers head which I thought was so amazing.

So besides my awesome ring collection I have a daily story for you. As I left my Chemistry class today, after talking a really easy quiz, I was looking over my periodic table for one element symbol that I missed- Iron (Fe). While I was looking over my table, I was also on my way to the dorm. I was almost there when suddenly I was immediately stopped by an N-Boo. He managed to hand me a flyer to the freshmen “Ice Breaker” party this Saturday that I was already attending. He said “ I’s got’s something for yooh” as I disgustingly glanced up at him and returned a revolting stare. I finally reached my dorm room, when seconds after Stepahaine entered and told me the same pack of N-Boo’s were giving her really hard look. She ended up walk running for her LIFE! *sigh* what a day (<.<”)

Shop Till You Drop

This past Friday I received my final paycheck from my job, that I miss so dearly, Cineplex. Like anyone would when they get paid, you feel the need to buy something nice for yourself, especially when you see things that are on SALE!! Any lady knows that sale items must be purchased. Across the street, literally across the street, from my school is a place called Windsor Crossing. It’s a place where people come to buy things for cheap; most are from the states since Detroit is really close. Even though American prices are usually cheaper, I think they feel like they’re getting a deal. Who really knows for sure. That Friday was the day that I not only got paid, but my cousins also. With money in the bank, we thought we were all ballin’ and decided to be big spenders, with the knowledge of the consequences we would face later on.

Our first stop was at La Senza. My cousin Stepahanie and I went in planning not to buy anything, but left with nice, wild - cheetah and zebra print- bras and not one, but two sexy panties (<.<). Along with our purchases we made a friend. She laughed with us, made jokes with us and most of all related to our everyday run-ins with the crazy, hoot and hollering people of Windsor. We will definitely be visiting her on the regular.

Next we went to Aldo. What lady can resist shoes? I know you guys know the end result. That’s right, purchases upon purchases of beautiful shoes!!! You will see them later on, so make sure to stay posted!(^.~). After moving from store to store we decided to take a load off at Cafe Mondo, where we got a nice student discount. YESSS =D. I ordered a big, soft chocolate cookie and a caramel ice capp. Step ordered a macadamia nut cookie and a caramel macchiato. mmmmm NOM NOM NOM ( ^0^). With our relaxing snack we kicked back and just took in the moment.

For this outing I wore my vibrant salmon-y, orange cardigan and a floral skirt. I topped it off with a plain white tee. For shoes, I decided to wear my Ked’s to tone down the girly feel, and as usual I used my cross shoulder, black vintage bag.

Now I now this has nothing to do with vintage fashion, but I spent this past weekend with my girlfriends and we simply had a blast. I went to my Korean friend Kelly's house, who I haven't seen in so long, to hang out and catch up. She had just switched condos, so I also wanted to go and help her get situated. Her best friend from Korea, Arey, has been staying with her these past weeks and is enjoying her first time Canada. She had heard so much about me and our other friends, so we wanted to do something to make her feel more at home. We decided to go out for a nice dinner. We got dressed up and headed out! Later, we enjoyed some karaoke at Christie Station (Korea Town) where we always have a good time.
